Become a Freemason?
Are you looking for new answers to old questions?
Are you looking for meaning, depth and significance in life?
Are you looking for a method to improve yourself and help others?
Then Freemasonry may be for you. Come and visit us!
The Order of Freemasons under the Greater East has been the face of recognised Freemasonry in our country since 1756. Membership is open to any male aged 18 and above, regardless of religion, race or orientation.
Women can join the Order of Weavers, Vita Feminea Textura, with which there are close ties. The same applies to the International Order of Mixed Freemasonry, Le Droit Humain. In Gouda and Den Bosch, there has also been a lodge for women only since 2015.
Elsewhere on this site you will see the list on which the 150 lodges affiliated to us can be clicked. There is also a lodge near you.
If you are considering membership, contact a lodge in your area, which will meet on an evening that suits you. This will be followed by three interviews with members of that lodge, during which we will check mutually whether ‘it clicks’. Such care is necessary, because you will become a member of an association, of which most members remain members for life. We also want to avoid misunderstandings: the lodge is not a place to do business, or to network. It is a place of deepening insights.
One lodge member said, ‘I have met people I would never meet otherwise and talked about topics I would not discuss with my best friends’.
